It is with a cautious heart that I, Kikuko Kuristina Oyama, daughter of Sosai Mas Oyama and custodian of the Mas Oyama Enterprise, share an important development. I have entered into discussions with the Head Priest of Gokokuji Temple regarding the relocation of my parents' resting place due to ongoing, unspoken issues with Kenji Midori and his management team at Shinkyokushin.
Unpermitted Use of Intellectual Properties
For many years, Mr. Midori and his newly formed group have utilized Sosai's intellectual properties without the family's permission. Additionally, there have been concerns regarding the misuse of the Gokokuji Temple. Despite these issues, out of respect for Sosai's choice of his Branch Chiefs, we kept these matters private.
Ceased Payments and Baseless Claims
In 2016 and 2017, Mr. Midori and his office initiated payments, recognizing the rightful ownership of Sosai’s intellectual properties. However, these interim payments ceased without notice. A few weeks ago, our lawyer contacted Mr. Midori’s office to address the outstanding payments.
Their secretary, Koi Yasukazu, responded by phone and email, stating that the payments were halted due to concerns over my son’s arrest in 2018, fearing their funds might be used for illegal activities. This claim is baseless and irrelevant to the issue at hand. The payments in question pertain solely to the intellectual properties of Sosai’s IKO and have nothing to do with my private life.
Call to the Kyokushin Community
I call upon the Kyokushin community to reflect on this situation. Mr. Midori frequently promotes Shinkyokushin as upholding Sosai Mas Oyama's teachings and legacy. However, the integrity of these claims is now in question.
The legacy of Sosai Mas Oyama deserves to be honored with respect and transparency. It is our duty to ensure that his teachings and contributions to martial arts are preserved and promoted with the highest integrity.
Support the Mas Oyama Enterprise
The Mas Oyama Enterprise is dedicated to preserving and promoting the true legacy of Sosai Mas Oyama through the original Sosai Mas Oyama Honbu dojo. We invite the Kyokushin community to support our efforts and ensure the continuity of Sosai's teachings.
